Recordings stay on your device. Publishing is opt-in, one recording at a time.

What Roll records

• Video of the tab or screen you chose, and tab audio
• Console output, network requests with text bodies (capped), clicks and typed text
• Browser, OS, viewport, and timezone

Never recorded: passwords, card and one-time-code fields, Authorization / Cookie / API-key headers, streaming response bodies.

Where it lives

In your browser's storage, and — if the Roll MCP server is running — in ~/.trace/jams. Recording does not contact our servers.

When you publish or buy

• Sign-in: your email and OAuth profile
• Publish: the files of that recording, hosted so the link can play them
• Pro: payment email and license checks

Retention

Free links are deleted after 7 days. Pro links stay until you delete them. Local recordings stay until you delete them.
