Privacy
Recordings stay on your device unless you publish one. Publishing is opt-in, per recording.
What the Chrome extension collects
- Tab video of the page you chose to record
- Console messages, fetch and XHR bodies (capped; auth headers redacted), clicks, and inputs
- Device metadata: user agent, viewport, and timezone
This data is stored in this browser and, if the local MCP host is running, written to ~/.trace/jams. Recording does not upload it.
What the server processes
- Email and OAuth profile when you sign in to publish or manage links
- The files of a recording you choose to publish, so the share link can play them
- License-key checks when you activate Pro
- Payment email when you buy Pro
Retention
Free published links are deleted after 7 days. Pro links stay until you delete them. Local recordings stay until you delete them.
Chrome Web Store Limited Use
The use of information received from Google APIs will adhere to the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. Tab video, clicks, and optional console or network detail are collected only while you are recording, and only for that recording. We do not sell this data or use it for anything unrelated to recording, replay, or a share link you choose to publish.
